An Evesham Township Police Officer is being hailed a true hero, and the department is praising him as “Officer of the Month” for March. Police say that he saved three lives on three separate shifts, and he helped in the arrest of a suspect for attempted murder. Officer Brian Strockbine has been a member of the Evesham Police Department for 11 years. ETPD says on March 8, 2016, Officer Strockbine responded to a home after reports of a dead woman on the front lawn. An Arkansas State Trooper and Drew County Sheriff’s Deputy are being hailed as heroes. Authorities say that the driver of a Chevy Impala lost control of her vehicle on the closed section of Highway 35 East. The car floated into a ditch, submerging most of the passenger compartment of the vehicle. It also trapped the driver and her passenger inside. Arkansas State Police say it happened March 19, 2016 at about 1:30 in the afternoon. According to The Chicago Tribune, the girl’s grandmother had called 911 from the side of the road Thursday evening after realizing the girl was in distress in her car seat. A grandmother is very thankful for a Northbridge police officer’s heroic actions that helped save her 6-month-old granddaughter’s life. On March 2, Kerrie Hendie was driving down the roadway with her granddaughter Addisyn whose medical issues require her to use a trach to breathe. The grandmother heard a choking sound from the baby that meant the trach tube was clogged – which also meant there was no oxygen flowing to her. On Friday, Officer Omar Akel with the Long Branch Police Department in New Jersey responded to an emergency involving a 9-month-old infant who was choking. According to his department, Officer Akel arrived on scene and began to administer first aid to the child. When he got to the family’s home, the baby’s skin already had a bluish tint, and she wasn’t making any noise, he said. MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Mount Pleasant Police Officer Hannah Howard was recently awarded Town Employee of the Month for saving the life of an unresponsive man. On May 5, 2015 Pfc. Howard was dispatched to a home regarding a man that had collapsed and stopped breathing. When Pfc. Howard arrived on scene she noted that the man had no pulse and was not responding.
