An Arkansas man is facing felony charges after an incident involving a free water cup and some not free soda. According to a police report sent to 40/29 News, 18-year-old Cody Morris was arrested Monday. Police accused him of putting soda inside a water cup at a Springdale McDonald’s and then refusing to return the soda.

Police say the manager he tried to stop the suspects from driving away, but he was hit by their car. The manager at the McDonald’s at 520 S. Thompson Street called police Monday to report a robbery, the report says. Police say the manager reported to police three people went through the drive thru and asked for three large waters. Police say those three people parked, went inside of the restaurant, dumped out the water, and then filled the cups with soda.

The manager told police he asked the three people to return the soda. Two of them did, but one did not, the manager told police.

Police say the manager stood behind the suspect’s car and tried to stop the three from leaving, according to the report. Police say the car reversed and hit the manager. The manager tried to get the keys out of the ignition and was hit on the hand and then by the vehicle again, the manager told police.

WLS reports Morris’ car was found at a nearby bowling alley. Police say the arrested Morris and they charged Morris with felony robbery.

He was booked into the Washington County Detention Center. The website shows Morris was booked into jail Tuesday. The website also showed he had a hearing scheduled for Friday morning. He was released on $2,500 bond.
